After a couple weeks have gone by it is now time to update our Afew Goods Classics Playlist on Spotify. This week we want to pay homage to one of our all time favorite producers who goes by the name James Dewitt Yancey, better known as J Dilla.
Dilla who was born in 1974 in Detroit is considered to be the inventor of Neo-Soul /Lo-Fi Hip Hop genre and has revolutionized the music industry with his one-of-a-kind sampling style. Unfortunately he already passed at the age of 32 in 2006 due to his lupus disease.
Dilla was a master when it comes to digging for rare samples and inspired the following generations with his MPC skills. We have added some of our favorite songs to the Spotify playlist that he has released or also some of the iconic sample records that he has used.

Even though he already passed away over 15 years ago, he is still influencing the music industry & artists from all over the world pay homage to his legacy.
Additionally to our favorite song of J Dilla, we also wanted to share a dope BBC Radio Documentary, as well as a Tribute Boiler Room by Robert Glasper.
