Ah! This is something you were not expecting.
Long story short and originally released in 1985, the classic silhouette has been shifting between the sport of basketball and skate culture for quite some time.
Complying with the most recent trends, here is a bespoke iteration that is all about the details. This one of one sneaker* takes inspiration from the “Daruma” collection, namely one of its t-shirts and features all the colours that are printed on it. This masterpiece was proudly made by @tornschuhjette.
For starters, it displays 6 different hues on the mixed material upper: cloud-blue, navy blue, yellow, red, brown and purple. The silhouette sits atop a contrasting white midsole with a full-red outsole. However, as mentioned, it is all about the details: right at the heel, white and red leather can be found. Both sides also feature the eyes of the Daruma. The tongue’s outline additionally matches the red found on the upper and outsole, as well as boasting custom tags.
To top it off, a further element that cannot be seen with the naked eye is, in fact, the insoles, which are made from an original and vintage Kimono, a way to fill closer and more connected to the inspiring Japanese culture.
